Many seniors want to live out their lives at home but can’t afford to bring in private home services or renovate their home to accommodate their changing health care needs. 2. Legal Issues for Family Caregivers and the Seniors They Care For: Representation Agreements & Powers of Attorney

A Will is a legal document that sets out who will administer your estate (your executor), and how your assets, property and personal effects will be distributed upon your death. BUT a Will is not enough. Legal documents such as Representation Agreements and Powers of Attorney help ensure that our wishes for our health care, housing, and management of our finances will be respected, in the event that we might become incapacitated because of an accident, illness, dementia, etc.
Many people avoid taking steps to deal with these things because they believe it is too expensive, complicated or intimidating, or because they just ‘can't get their head around the subject’ and ‘it can wait because I'm not that old yet’.
When is the best time to make sure you have the legal documents you need? Before a crisis arises! With Burnaby lawyer Stephen Miller.
